Interactive architectural structures
RSL have a wide range of different products and services available and we pride ourselves on achieving our customer aspirations. Thanks to this over the years we’ve produced some really unique architectural units to display equally unique software. Normally we are dealing with strong personalities with fixed ideas who need to believe in our technical knowledge of displays and respect our design capabilities.
The key to a successful architectural information solution is a dedicated well co-ordinated design and project management team.
Oodenarde visitor centre
RSL and IBM combined to produce this interactive touch screen visitor structure in Belgium at the archaeological site of an old monastery. The computer system reconstructed the church and buildings on top of the remaining foundations.
The “Wedge” Dundee City Centre
The Wedge was designed for Dundee City Council as part of their “Bringing Confidence to Public Transport” initiative. RSL and architects Nicoll Russell combined to produce this granite, glass and steel structure to house the LCD departure screens and the interactive kiosk journey planner. The Ilfracombe 'Mushroom'
The 'Mushroom' was an architect designed structure with a purpose of providing interactive tourist Information under an inventive and original shelter in an outdoor, unsupervised environment.
Horncastle town centre bus shelter
In conjunction with the architects and bus shelter contractors, RSL designed an interactive journey planning kiosk for Horncastle town centre. The project required close working between the constructor, Smiths of Derby, RSL and the architects.
The result is this stylish multi-function bus shelter with interactive 'up to the minute' travel information, standard timetables and high brightness displays all encompassed within an aesthetically pleasing shelter.
