RSL Secure Browser
The RSL Secure Browser provides the environment in which an interactive kiosk user is able to safely interact with the intended content. It provides a ‘Walled Garden’ access to various nominated websites, based upon a white-list (sites that have been vetted and approved) where if someone tries to access a site that isn’t on the list an ‘access denied’ message will be shown. This message will also occur if the system suspects anyone is trying to breach the secure browser.
The secure browser interacts with the RSL Watchman system to provide statistical information, along with managing hardware components such as printers, telephone handsets, card readers and system temperature.
The browser allows for the web based content to be viewed in a way that exactly satisfies the client. Simple step by step guides on what to do next are handy for anyone who isn’t experienced with computers; the colourful browsers on offer from RSL are self explanatory and very user friendly.
Each system has an idle period, where after a set amount of time an eye catching attract screen will appear.
When a pre-existing website is to be used as the content for an interactive kiosk information system, the menu will act as a portal, or ‘middle man’ between user and online content.
