Tourism

 RSL have been involved with the tourism industry for many years, providing a substantial amount of unique ‘site specific’ tourist information solutions which include interactive kiosks and electronic display systems. Key areas include a large contract involving multiple sites in and around the beautiful Peak District.

 Tourist Information Centre's (TIC'S) have recently been moving away from their costly and unwieldy paper based tourist information resources; and moving towards the digital era of interactive information for visitors. With the ability to print from indoor interactive units, or have 24 hour access through the usage of RSL Through Glass systems (examples of which are shown below, or can be viewed separately here). These systems allow for the unit and its main components to be housed inside the TIC, whilst through the window tourists can access the information they require.  TIC's around the UK are currently being refurbished and updated with our touch screen kiosks and systems, which are proving extremely popular thanks to vast amounts of available information; the software acts as a portal in which the internet can be accessed, restricting access to appropriate sites and material picked by the housing TIC. Information typically included would be tourism, travel, restaurants, hotel booking, tickets to events, places of interest, the local County Council website amongst others.

 The above unit is an example of RSL's great flexibility: you may recognise it as the Royal Observatory at Greenwich in London. The unit here dispenses certificates recording the time and date of the visit and printing it onto the certificates. This machine is touch screen operated, containing a small LED 1 line display which covers a variety of information, it also utilises a printer.

  Below are a few examples of how RSL work with our clients to provide a custom interface for tourists to use whilst ensuring the browser remains complementary to existing themes. In the sections shown in the examples below RSL have provided software that acts like a portal to the existing county council website, where a lot of information can be found on a wide variety of subjects. We provide custom interfaces and browsers dependant on the clients' needs and wants.
