 Prisons

RSL produce a range of units designed to withstand the prison environment, aimed at providing inmates with vital information that currently necessary but  just not available. Information on relevant ‘in-house’ contacts like doctors, wardens, whom to go to if an inmate feels particularly threatened etc.

The units are multi-lingual, meaning that RSL provide this information in over 20 different languages; accommodating for the shockingly high amount of non English speaking inmates in UK jails.

Managers at each specific prison decide on the information they would like available to inmates, with a wide range of topics to chose from; examples include health, diet, education, exercise, employment, amongst many others. The aim is that, through providing the relevant information in a secure and easy to read manor (literacy level 1), inmates will be less likely to reoffend, as in jail they spent more time thinking about improving their career path rather spiraling into a life of crime.

The software is carefully coded, ensuring that any attempts to breach the secure browser or hack the system are noticed and treated as a threat and an 'Access Denied' type message is displayed.

The hardware is sturdy and has proven very vandal resistant through extensive testing and is also accompanied by an inbuilt CCTV system. RSL offer a wide range of customisable options for any of our interactive units, including Wall Mount and standard floor mounting options.

Some of the units installed have received over 1000 separate hits each month, showing that they are providing a vital information resource.
