Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen
Traditionally dressed guards patrol the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark each day, and those at Tivoli wanted the guard uniform incorporated into their new ticket handling kiosks; a novel idea that RSL were happy to accommodate for.

RSL undertook the project that began as little more than a scribbled concept design, following it through from sketch to success; with the end results maximising functionality whilst remaining stylish and fitting to the environment.

The main purpose here was to provide tourists with easy to use kiosk, designed to dispense tickets and wrist bands; therefore the units would need to handle cash, credit cards, ticket dispensing, wrist band dispensing and, as an added feature, RSL included a bar code reader: enabling users to buy tickets online before visiting, scanning the barcode upon arrival. RSL provided all the associated with this project, ensuring minimal effort on behalf of our clients as we cover all aspects involved with a system.

Along with the desired visual aspect the machines needed to be robust, as they were going to be used by anywhere up to thousands of people per day, whilst also being situated in semi-supervised outdoor locations. The units needed to be weather proof, vandal resistant and require minimal changes to consumables (tickets and wrist bands).
Touch screen interaction and an easy to use browser, with fully Disability Discrimination Act compliant hardware, in both English and Danish languages gave this project the final touch.
A successful project followed through by the RSL team from concept through to installation, with a comprehensive maintenance package in place to ensure maximum up time; with engineers on call if any issues arise.

Other solutions provided by RSL in the Tourism area are touched upon here, with other case studies on the sector coming shortly.
