With 8 existing information sites around Yorkshire RSL had high hopes when the contract for two additional departure screens went up for tender. Easily winning the contract thanks to our clients appreciation of our earlier solutions RSL began work on the remaining sites at Hornsea and Withensea.

The systems varied considerably and featured many of the different aspects RSL have to offer in terms of transport solutions; there were interactive kiosks installed which incorporate the RSL Station Master software package along with multiple departure data displays which allow clients to display custom messages alongside their transport data.

The new systems revolutionised public transport around Yorkshire, providing very accurate systems that were digitally updated through a high speed internet connection, whilst being monitored by our RSL Watchman service which constantly monitors for faults.

This solution includes both bus and train interactive Journey Planning software combined with accurate departure information to produce a complete solution. The interactive kiosks in this project also show the local council website in a touch screen friendly manner.

RSL managed the project through from start to finish, ensuring all contracts, approvals software and hardware elements came together producing a high quality system that will be up and running for many years to come. There is a comprehensive 5 year maintenance contract with the Council to ensure all systems are operating to their optimum performance.
