Norwich and Kings Lynn bus stations

An example of an RSL kiosk and display combination at Norwich   RSL have recently installed a 24-hour travel information touch-screen kiosk at King’s Lynn bus station, after the service proved such a hit at Norwich bus station.

The journey planning interactive kiosk system at Norwich bus station has generated 8,000 page hits on average each and every month since its installation back in August of 2007. With such consistency in the usage of this unit it is not surprising that Norfolk County Council have been keen to introduce the RSL information service into various other areas in the district; Kings Lynn bus station being a prime example.

The information kiosks allow people to view travel and other useful online information, such as; ticket booking, hotel reservations, local attractions, events and weather; with the ability to e-mail any queries to transport providers.

Adrian Gunson, cabinet member for Planning and Transportation at Norfolk County Council commented “The main aim of these kiosks is to provide the public with convenient access to local information where it is needed 24/7. The kiosks not only provide useful information, they also have the ability to print travel information and e-mail transport contacts with queries or comments.

The kiosks provide direct access to bus and rail operator websites, along with the Norfolk County Council website , where people are able to view news, weather, sport, JustJobsNorfolk and local information on what to do in and around Norfolk.

It is planned to install further kiosks at other key locations throughout Norfolk and around the UK as a whole.
